When I painted “Sonnet of the Sole,” I was thinking about the dancer’s world backstage, shoes scuffed, breath steadying, heart full. To me, that’s where the true poetry of dance lives. I like to think of this piece on someone’s wall as a tribute to dedication, to the unseen beauty behind every graceful step.
